Ana Polanco Alvarez, PhD, Pharmacist is a member of the Executive Board of Merck Spain since July 2015. She is the Market Access & Corporate Affairs Director leading a team responsible for Strategic Pricing, Health Economics, Public Tenders, Regional and Hospital Market Access, Government Affairs, Policy and Patient Advocacy.
Ana is also a member of the Executive Board of ASEBIO (Spanish Bioindustry Association) where she has lead the Health Commission since 2015, and she is also member of the Board of the ASD ( Digital Health Association) and has FEI (Foro de Empresas Innovadoras). She is member of the board of the foundation Merck Salud since 2015. Ana is the executive director of cluster ClosinGap_Women for a Healthy Economy.
Before joining Merck, Ana Polanco was Market Access and Public Affairs Director in Novo Nordisk Spain, serving as a member of the Management Committee for three years. Prior to this Ana Polanco worked for eight years at Bristol-Myers-Squibb in Spain and Europe in the Marketing and Market Access area and at Gilead as Marketing Director.
Ana Polanco holds a PhD and a Degree on Pharmacy from Salamanca University. She worked for three years at the Ramon y Cajal Hospital, where she specialized in Clinical Microbiology and she holds a Master in Marketing & Business Administration at the UNED (Spanish National University at a Distance).
Ana Polanco is professor of Masters in Public Universities and Private Business Schools, Director of End of Master Thesis, member of Master thesis committee and has participated in Conferences, Round Tables and mass media (TV, radio, magazines, specialized journals).
